"How does a 23-year-old who sings about smoking weed and being bored get on with his parents and friends? "My mom loves King of the Beach," Williams says. "She said she's really proud of how I've matured as a songwriter. But she and my dad met in a synth-pop band called Summer Wind. She's a sweet lady." As for his friends, that's a different story. The last year has taken its toll. "It's hard to keep friends when you're never home," he says. "I don't ever see my friends anymore."
